After more than 13 happy, safe, reliable and troublefree driving years and almost 225.000km ( 140.000mls) with our m.y. 2000 Fiat Palio Weekend 1,6-16V, we decided it's time for something new.
My wife, doing most of the driving in the Palio, has some minor muscle problems in her hands, making shifting sometimes a bit difficult.
Last saturday, we bought a brandnew, black metallic Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint TCT ( (automatic), 1,4 Turbo, 170HP...!!
So at least we keep it all Italian, Giulietta will do nice next to my Alfa Romeo GT jtd, I suppose.
We now have three (!) Alfa Romeo's, 1985 GTV-6, 2004 GT jtd, and 2016 Giulietta.
Finaly, it's farewell Palio, the most reliable car, I've ever owned, it'll be strange to see it leave soon...

We have 500X cross plus, same 170 bhp and 9 speed auto. Plus 4x4 on demand. Brilliant. Wife's car, now 2k in under 2 months.

Two years on.
The Palio suffered a worn/broken clutch.
The female owner decided to scrap the car,
That's one less World Car Project #178 aka "Palio".

That is a shame.

I assume the monetary value of the Palio was extremely low..

Most cars get to that point..

We have a 2004 panda..
Would be tough to justify an expensive repar.. great relaible car though :)

My Fiat Palio 1.2 Active (2009 model), is also slowly getting there. Has 130 000 km on the clock. Getting parts for the Indian version is not easy, but managed to get waterpump and timing belt, no just need to find someone who is willing to replace them. I'm in south africa, does anyone know who can do it.
