When driving home from our UK vacation, I noticed a lot more inlet/ engine noise during accelerating than before, but, hey, the car is almost 13 years old and has done almost 200.000km, so I considered it to be "normal".
After a close inspection today I discovered the real reason: two nice cracks in the rubber hose between the aircleaner and the engine.....
I don't know for how long this has been like this, but it can't be long, as I inspect the engine very often.
Anyway, fuel consumption was VERY low during our holiday trips in good old Britain, maybe because the engine could suck in more air via the cracks...??
So I ordered a new original hose (expensive..!!) today, hope I can fit it next week.
