I own a 2001 Palio 1.2 with me since then, currently 58000 kms on the ODO. Just got it serviced wherein i had the Timing Belt & other belts replaced also spark plugs, Fuel Filter, Air Filter, Lubes & Coolant. Since then the car has become sluggish, engine takes time to get into the right powerband also sometimes jerks a bit, these issues were not there before the servicing was done, engine was very responsive & smooth, suddenly all the driving pleasure is gone, i had it scanned at the dealership but that too was normal, one thing though after the service the car had stalled and had to be towed back to the service center, it was diagnosed as a faulty engine sensor & same was replaced. Can this be because of faulty fitting of the belt/bad adjustment or anything else needs to be checked. All the work was carried out at the dealership.

You need to check that your brand new timing belt isnt one tooth out. My buddy replaced the timing belt on his Ford Sierra (one tooth out) and he had similar symptoms as you. He found it was one tooth out 20k miles later when he renewed the belt again. It then went like a rocket, so there you are.

Thanks for the advise. Dealer has not been able to diagonse the issue, but i am taking it back to them tomorrow to try and sort it out. Meanwhile i have added a few injector cleaner and topped with with Shell Super petrol (with additives) but this has not made any difference. One more thing last two times when i have got a tank full of fuel, it starts to leak under the car and stops after a while, seems like there is a leak towards the end of the tank/connecting pipe, will have it checked up.
