Every A/C system has a low pressure switch to prevent it running with no oil ( which is in the refrigerant).
So when the level of R134A reaches a certain ( low) point, the compressor just won't engage anymore.
So first, have the charge checked at a car A/C specialist.
Interesting.
Let us know how the overhaul works out.
The compressor o-ring on our 1999 Palio is leaking as well, I'm going to use a leak sealer next week.
A new compressor is way to expensive for this 14 year old car.
Btw, it's a rather common Japanese Denso compressor, used on many other cars as well.
Suzuki makes ( small) cars in India, right?
I bet they use the same Denso compressor...!!
You mean long life engine coolant?
It's red/ pink in color.
Old fashioned coolant is green/ blue.
And yes, you can change from green/blue to red/ pink long life coolant in the Palio without problems.
Btw, do you have part numbers for those o-rings and seal that are used to repair the a/c compressor?
