The valves are bent, 99,9% sure.
You probably need a new cil. head.
And remember , the belt has to be changed every three years or 37500mls, whatever comes first, failing to do so, and you will end with a broken belt and lots of expenses....

Thanks Peter
I changed the belt last year and it has only gone 20,000 klm , the belt didn't break it slipped off so i suspect a tensioner piled up , I took everything off and brought a mechanic over that has worked on one of these and he says the valves are not bent , said i was extremely lucky , I will wait to celebrate this mere luck after it is started , I couldn't believe it , i had it changed at the fiat dealership and they put a skinny belt on , seems to me it is half the width of the new one that i bought...I am taking it to the dealer tomorrow to see what they have to say ............

OK, you said the belt broke in your first post....!

Anyway, I'm curious what your Fiat dealer has to say about it...!
In what country do you live btw?

Peter
I live in Venezuela and i didn't even go to the dealer , I knew the outcome , I just learned my lesson on them , here in Venezuela there is not too many good mechanics at all , I am taking it to a shop that uses these cars for racing , he is very good and I will let you know the outcome.
thanks for your support
regards
Darren
