Re: Palio 1.9D Fuel Injector problem(Red Light)

yups tht will be better...
Just ask them if they have "EXAMINER". Its nothing but a computer for FIAT car check up.

They will just connect ECU of your car to EXAMINER; and it will show all the errors on the screen. This will give you exact knowledge of what all things are not functioning correctly in your car. Simple.

Almost ALL FIAT dealers have this Examiner with them. Also you dont need to keep your car with dealer for checking..it hadrly takes few mins.....

Firstly, In order to get the power during accerlation i have to crank it twice. Secondly, though there is green light on switching on the a/c but no cooling. I beleive a/c is not working. Got it checked at tata service station but they are unable to diagonse the problem. Plz help. And YA FIP check sign i.e. red pump sign is always on

Re: Palio 1.9D Fuel Injector problem(Red Light)

hi buddy,

Looks like...another 1.9D owner suffering from Injector light.
Take your car to a place where they have "FIAT EXAMINER" and get it check. That will tell you exact problem with your car.

From what ever you have described it looks like... FUEL PUMP or injector related problem....
AC doesn't give cooling effect when injecor light is on....so dont worry...just get your car checked properly....!!!!

Want to change palio engine

I bought an old palio 1.9 D(2003 year) and it looks that engine needs to be redone. Its gets heated up within 10 mins of driving. Any Suggestions from anyone? Should i get the engine repaired??

HI buddy,

I think first of all get temperature sensor checked before opening up your engine....basically depending up on temperature sensors FAN will start & gets cut off..and as per as i know palio have 2 fans....check tht whole assembly first...i guess sensors must be main culprit...go to TATA-FIAT service center..rather than any roadside mechanic.....

yes thts righjt this is common practice...check your car on examiner...that will give you exact fault...if Fuel pump sensor is at fault..Examiner will show you clearly ...

now how to rectify it? IF you are from INDIA,
then Such fuel pumps are rectified in MUMBAI only (LUCAS Pumps)...so you have to send your pump to MUMBAI,Andheri and they will rectify it...i guess..tht should cost you arround 14K-17K. Check with any reputed TATA-FIAT service center they should guide you....

once rectified you can start your car in first crank..

HI Aravinth,

Any updates from your side? as per as cost is concerned..14-17K is max...
Dealer through which you are sending your FUEL pump he might charge some HANDELLING CHARGES hence your amount is coming up to 25K...

Re: Palio 1.9D Fuel Injector problem(Red Light)

I am facing same problem, got checkup and minor electrical switches change etc., but problem persists, local garage mechanic says that the diesel filter time and again accumulates water in the diesel filter, which means that pump is in need of repairs / service. any suggestions otherwise, Please let me know in the mean time I have given my pump to lucas for service, lets see what comes up. :P,

The only way is to visit the FIAT dealer and have your ECU read for stored faults.

Re: Palio 1.9D Fuel Injector problem(Red Light)

Hi

I have a Palio 1.9D ELX, July 2004 , has done about 61000 km.
I do face the same problem of injector light sometimes. When the car was put on examiner, the fault read as below:

Rotor sensor fault.
Experts at Prerana motors Bangalore told me to run the car without worry and if the problem recurs frequently, they said they need to calibrate. I understand that this can only be done at Pune in India. ( Is it true?. Does it mean that delphi pump is a serious concern as far as ASS is concerned?).

Noise level of my car has gone up and AC is not very consistent. Is it oK to run the car with the problem? any solution in and around bangalore would be my delight. Fiat is silent to many of my mails. Knowing their ASS i do not expect a reply for that matter.
