I have just bought a 131 Supermirafiori and got it checked out by a mechanic. I was told that i needed to put in a secondary bonnet pull as the first is dodgy. I went to pop the bonnet and the pull broke...
To fix it i needed to pull the sump guard off, front grill out, headlights out and finally, the bonnet hinges off. I got to the headlights and cannot get the drivers side headlight out as the battery is in the way and the adjustor is catching.
Any suggestions and/or methods to fix it?

Why don't you cut back the outer sheath where the wire broke say 2 inches back. Then you will have the inner wire protruding and use one pair of pliers on the outer sheath to hold it tight and another pair of pliers on the inner wire and pull hard. That should pop the bonnet. The bonnet is hinged forward in typical normal FIAT practise of the era. Replacing the original bonnet pull wire should not be difficult. You can always get the cables made up especially but there are places around that stock new ones.

Hope this helps

i tried pulling the wire just in front of the bonnet pull but it didn't do anything. As i can't get at the rest of the wire without the bonnet open i won't be able to locate the broken part of the wire. Cheers for the suggestion though. Any info/suggestions on how to remove the headlight?
