Hi guys!

I recently bought an 04' Fiat Strada Pickup with a 1,2l 44 kW engine, i guess it's the same as Punto's, and a 5-speed manual gearbox. Since I have driven with it for a month now and started to HATE both the engine for it's lack of acceleration (0-100 takes 2months with mx bike in bed) and gearbox for being so slow(3500rpm @ 100km/h with fifth gear), I'm interested in changing them. Also fuel consumption is pretty ridiculous- 8,5l/100km at highway for a 1,2 l engine :bang: But because Fiat isn't a popular car in Estonia, i'm doing some research in here. Do u guys know, are there any engines(1,4/1,6) or faster gearboxes with a good compatibility for an easy and fast replacing? I guess i'm not very keen on changing the mounts.

it may need to be set-up better,
but yes it's NOT a powerful engine.although the fuel economy doesn't sound ideal.,

Diesel is not an option. Car should be almost MOT worthy after the swap. Still lookin for engines

You can fit a 1600 16 valve Palio engine and gearbox in. I have a Strada with the 1600 motor in and it is lively.
