Hi guys,

Hoping someone can help me my heaters seemed to have stopped working in my 2004 Fiat Idea.

The fans and air conditioning still work but they wont heat up? I cant find a workshop manual for this car anywhere. I want to check the usual problems such as pollen filter to start off with.

Could someone please point me in the right direction? I understand the Idea is similar to the Punto so if anyone has had this problem before and fixed it then it would be much appreciated

Thanks

Just uploaded an Idea eLEARN manual to the forum downloads section here:

https://www.fiatforum.com/downloads.php?do=cat&id=11

To use the manual:
  1. Download all 4 parts into the same folder.
  2. Point WinRAR at part 1. (This will automatically decompress all 4 parts and create a file named Idea eLEARN.iso).
  3. Create a CD from this file then install the eLEARN interface using Autorun, or the setup.exe file on the disc.
  4. Click the eLEARN icon that will have been created on your desktop during the setup process to run the program.
  5. The CD must be in the drive whenever you want to use the program.

Hi ,
I'm no Idea expert , but generally , for heat you will need hot water flowing from the engine into the "heater matrix" ( a radiator for the heater) , usually built LOW DOWN into the dashboard area.

you'll either have an air lock - so the coolant can't circulate efficiently.. or an other issue .. messing-up the coolant flow,

check the coolant level , and bring up to the MAX. mark .. - our panda had a poor heater this week , and a top up + a quick opening of the "bleed screw" restored full function,

As far as I'm aware , the pollen filter only restricts the air flow.. so you would still get HOT air , but need the fan on FAST to feel a decent flow,
I hope that helps,
good luck, and let us know what you find,
Charlie
