Hi folks,

I've been having a problem with my 2L twin cam 132 engine (with 124 pistons), and I thought I'd pick your brains...

After losing a spark plug tip down the sparkplug hole closest to the front of the engine, there has been a loud tapping noise when it's running, even though I have taken the tip out.

I thought it might be incorrectly adjusted tappets, most likely moved because of having the sparkplug tip in there?
Is this the most likely thing?
:confused::confused:

Your thoughts/comments will be appreciated. :D:D

I'm afraid there's still some debris down the plug hole on top of the cylinder.

1. Take plug out, obtain long bendy magnet(available from most motor factors). Try to push magnet down plug hole, and feel around as much as you can, so magnet can pick up and loose material..

2. Take other plugs out. (to make turning engine over easier). Turn engine using (36mm or 38mm,can't remember which) socket on crank pulley, front of engine-turn clockwise. See if it comes to any "stops". If it continues to turn freely, without binding or stops, good chance you've got it all out. You can replace all plugs and try to start her again. If not , you will have to set it to TDC and remove head for inspection of both head and cylinder tops. It only takes a small particle for this to happen. .

this has happened to many a fiat twin cam owner, got the badge myself!!!:bang:
