Can anyone tell me anything about the fiat 241 van.

I saw one today in a scrap yard and im contemplating saving and rebuilding it, first one i have ever seen, I thought it may of been a 238 van but its rear wheel drive. Currently it has no engine or gearbox. I did a google search but bugger all is coming up. I think they are quite quirky and make an interesting project especially if a twin cam fiat can be used for motivation. lol

One of these?

Agreed, would make a fun project but with so little info I think you'd be making up a lot as you go along so I hope you have good mechanical/engineering knowledge!

Why go twin cam though? Considering you'll be lucky to get an original engine in there, go modern - 1.4 16v TJet maybe? :D

I reckon its to big for one of the smaller modern units. Apparently with the old 1500 they used to stuggle. Be cool to have it set up as a tow wagon or something.

Think an old or an injected twincam be simple and easy enough to do. The only time i struck unreliability with them is when it had carbs and standard ignition. And on carbs the economy was never flash, lol

The van looks similar to a 238 van but bigger maybe, Look awesome with decent wheels on it and lowered down substancially.

i finally have some pictures to show, lol

I reckon the van 238 guy will say it looks similar to his.

The 241, 1965-75, used a 1438cc 4 cylinder unit. I have an original sales brochure for info if interested.
