Hi all, well got me 125 all welded up now, done the head skim and shimmed but looking to replace the SOLEX carb with summat different, maybe 40 idf or dhla...

can anyone suggest a replacement carb or twin carbs for this engine.

I believe with the right manifold twin 40 DCOEs will fit with the block mounted distributor. The other option is 40 IDFs, but finding a manifold is a bit tricky.

40 IDFs from a 124 will fit but you will need an inlet cam mounder distributer. Its probably easier to go with 40 DCOEs with a block mount distributer.

Agreeded. Something to keep in mind is the size of the manifold and filters as there isn't a lot of room in there, but it can be done. You can even get new DCOEs....

Hi mate you could go for the twin 40mm Solex's as fitted to some 124 Special T's or I have various Weber carbs and inlets for 1608 twin cams, all single twin choke down draught carbs, mainly 34mm but a few different models> If you're interested pm me I have loads of other 1608 twin cam bits too along with some diffs/axles/propshaft etc. I dont always check my messages regularly so be patient!
