Gday,

I have found a UT engine that im considering purchasing to put into my 128.

Can anyone tell me, or direct me if this has been covered before, exactly what I am in for in the conversion.

The engine is complete'ish, with two wiring looms. One has marralli computer (ignition?) and one is for a Bosch computer (i assumed injection from the look of the plugs on it. Is this L-jet? analogue system?

It has a 5 speed UT gearbox, but internals have been swapped into an X1/9 case as this is what the engine was supposed to be going into. Provided is also the UT gearbox case, so i can swap the internals back over for FWD application. When this is done, will the 128 gear selector pick up in the correct position without modification?

My main concern is drive shafts. I dont want to use the 128 driveshafts with the 'spiders' as they barely are sufficient with the 1100 motor at the moment. I was offered a set of drive shafts but they were for an X1/9 and really didnt look like they were going to work in the 128 FWD.

Do I need UT front hubs and drive shafts? (might as well get the front brakes as well) and will this solve my problems, will they fit straight in?

Any advice from previous experiences appreciative.
