Hi all, need to do some welding under the sill area of a 125 ( 1971 model), here is a link to some pickies:

can some help or advise the best way to attack this, i know i need to cut out the rust buts and seld some plate back in but just asking if anyone has done this and what they found to be the hrdest/esiest part of doing it.

thanks, Kevin

If you were closer I`d have given you a hand!

Its difficult to work out what we`re looking at in the pictures, is that the floor under the drivers seat?

She`s a beaut! (y)

You need to get it SORNed though mate!

Hi a73uk, yes it is the drivers side( right and drive ) but after further investigation( poking with a screwdriver) its the full length of the drivers side and small part of sill at front where it meets the wing...

it is sorned at the moment cos it was my sisters car from Hereford and they sorned it for last 4 years, she bringing the paper work up this weekend( V5 etc. plus a shed load of spares). she actually has another Fiat 125 in the garage that is in better nick than this i think but hads parts missing, plus it has a load of parts in the boot for me to collect in a few weeks plus was gonna remove the engine and gearbox and out and put it on ebay....but not sure yet.

would really like to get it back on the road as it is tax free and only £75 fullt comp ins for me....cant argue with that, if i spend say £500 for the welding, parts and general cleanup then i will be happy..

i cant seem to find out if there are any other Fiat 125 cars in the UK, not sure if there is ?????

cheers, kevin

PS, will take some more pickies and put in same place as before..then you will srr the full extent of the welding.
had machanic call up last night to have a look and he said it wasnt bad at all, calling saturday with some big axle stands to have a good look and give a price for welding, he seemed keen anyways so long as i do the donky work to cut cost down.
