Hello people. I own a Fiat 128 4p (in my country it is Zastava 128) and i have a plan to replace the stock 1,1 (55HP) whit another 1,6 engine from Fiat. Can you give me advice which egine to look for and how to boost it's power a bit? My goal is about 110KS.

I would like to instal a 8valve engine not a twin-cam because it is not so complicated . I am looking for some recepie to achive 110HP from 1,6 8v atmo. Can you help me ?
Thanks

Read through the thread I posted the link to!! I wouldn't advocate a twincam as it's way too much like hard work, the thread contains much of what you need to know.

IMHO your best bet would probably be a Fiat Ritmo/X1/9/Lancia Delta 1500 SOHC which should fit right in and give you a very useable 80-ish bhp to begin with.

Plenty of tuning options out there for that engine and I'd have thought 120bhp would be achievable without too much difficulty ;)

Do you think it is better to start with 1,5 rather than with 1,6?

My personal view is the 1.5 is the logical engine to go for as it should be easy enough to fit it (and the gearbox) as the Strada/Ritmo was a development of the 128 technology.
So IMHO yes, but others might have a different view
