Since I was asked so nicely, I thought I would post a couple of pics of my 128. It's a 1974 4 door sedan which I have slowly painted and modified slightly, more to come eventually though.

See here for my project page (on another site:eek:).

I love that early-style grille :)

Not the original, I can tell, because the centre of the door handles is black rather than chrome. We had a 1970 128 that had the same grille but chrome handles. Inside, the window winders were also chrome and the door armrests were a nice rounded shape (rather than a cheapened hard-plastic-with-padded-strip version on 1973-on models).

I'd love to buy an original '72-or-older 128 one day. Perfect colour would be the pale yellow. So far the only 128s to appear on Trademe have been the '73-on, locally-assembled 128s.

Anyway, great looking example you've created ;)

I love the early style grill too Alex!

My plan with the 128 was to go Focus ST orange. But it was going to be too hard and costly (no coverage!). I am very happy with the colour, in the sun the copper pearl comes out very nicely. The original was a very similar red but obviously a little dull looking.

There are a couple of 128s around, sorry scratch that, I can't remember the last time I saw another 128.:(

There was a yellow one on Trademe about a year ago with 15" or 16" wheels on it. It looked very nice, can't remember how much he got for it...

Scott.
