Heart breaking - especially if he was the one who restored it originally. But he was revving the nuts off the thing! Not sure what the red line is on those things but it sounded like an angry bee.

If you look there is a guy with a Db meter hanging around the back, so I’m gonna assume it was a loudest car competition type affair and revving the nuts off, was the order of the day. Looks like he paid the ultimate price for it.

To be fair as it was a rotary engine it would have needed a rebuild after every trip out to the shops so he should be used to it by now.

Looks like the clutch/flywheel blew up at 10k and destroyed the gearbox casing.

In other words you don't kill a rotary by revving it....the ancillaries though..well when fitting very probably aftermarket bits make sure they can handle the rpm.
