Leaving the Fiat fraternity

I think I'll have to do something drastic with it like that to make it interesting to some dave!

 Is a blown up car what it takes to get you interested dave?

That would make it unreliable tho... :yuck:

Our lot have recently bought a load of the (now) superceded i30s. They seem ok, although handling is not a patch on a Focus or Astra.....but they cost about £6500, complete with light bar and battenberg markings.

There are bicycles on the market for more than that.

Had a i30 courtesy car for 48 hours last week, entry level but I was impressed with it, and liked its styling also :)

Back in February, no pool cars at work, so got a rental new shape Ceed 1 - 1.6 CRDI, the I30's cousin. Impressive car, in terms of comfort, equipment and refinement, more so than the 11 plate Jetta Bluemo pool car that is usually my preference, as my own daily driver is a 58' Golf Plus. For the base model almost no gaps in the equipment, incl. best OEM bluetooth system I have come across so far for calls and music off an android phone. Had it for 3 days and covered 450 odd miles and averaged 66 mpg brim to brim. MPG's easier to come by in the Kia, has a 6 speed box as standard, my Golf Plus and works Bluemo Jetta struggle due to having to make do with 5 speed gearboxes! (n)

Think VAG's stingyness with equipment will cause them problems, as private motorists start to look past the badges and go for value for money, reliability and ease of ownership...

love the look of the new i30s :) i would have one if i could afford a new car :) hyundi has stepped up there game quite a lot
Couldn't agree more. However, as the Koreans have started to produce better styled cars, alas FIAT seem to be going in the opposite direction. I quite like the 500L as an overall car, but then I used to like Hyundai for their "Overall cars" whereas their styling was dull and tedious.

After the debacle with the GPs design and the Panda not looking as sharp as its predecessor, not to mention that both the 500 and Bravo are getting a bit too familiar/old, it looks to me as if FIAT are looking to just build transport modules and not attractive, interesting, desirable cars.

Good bye Uno, Tipo, 128. Ciao 131 Mirafiori Sport, 128 3P, 130 Coupe. Buona Note Dino, Brava, Coupe.
