and i honestly cant wait. that cars been more trouble than its worth. The accelerator last night was the final straw. Punto's really are more trouble than they're worth aren't they?

Re: Punto is going tomorrow!

in 2 months ive had a head gasket go, a thermostat go, the interior fans stopped working, the suspensions nafft, the accelerator cable snapped on me last night so had to spend the night in the car and the steering column is gonna die anytime soon

is that it?! ive had more than that go on me and im still loving my little car! and all the above could have happend to almost any car, not just a punto.

Re: Punto is going tomorrow!

mines going too now but on saturday.
due to hefty repair bills, after gearbox went and now misfiring and cant find problem and now a hole in the cat, in the last 2 month i think i have had car fully working for about 4days.

but dont worry am sticking with fiat (y)

Re: Punto is going tomorrow!

not nippier than a 1.2 8v? somehow i doubt that lol. my mate also has a 1.3 ctdi. i had a spin in it the otherday and its a lot quicker!

Re: Punto is going tomorrow!

diesels feel quicker due to the torque but they aint really quicker usually....

its more torque im after more than anything atm. i live up in the hills and trying to get the punto up heres a nightmare. most of the time it has to scream its ******** off in 2nd gear because as soon as you change to 3rd it practically slows to a stop

Re: Punto is going tomorrow!

i can see the problem with the punto from here

its got too many doors
1 or 2 cars ago I would slate this reply but meh......i see your point now (y)

As for the punto's being naff, must just be yours :nerner:

I've had a mk1, mk2, and a mk2b Active Sport (the 16v which btw accelerates faster than a corsa c 1.3, I have experienced it first hand) and the only real problem I had was the slave cylinder giving up after 45k in my mk2, easy to fix...

Thats the great thing about them, other than being cheap to run, tax, insure they also are easy to work on so repairs aren't too expensive when they do arise.

At the end of the day just look around, they are as common as muck for the simple reason, they are great cars......like any car....you look after it and it looks after you.

(revving the b******s off it in 2nd all the time probably isn't too good for it, hence all the problems)

Pfft, modern Vauxhall build quality is awful! Even worse than Fiat and Ford. (n)

I'd steer clear with a bardge pole personally

i had nothing but problems with my 1.3cdti.....

right down to the tree shaped dent in the bonnet :D.

:ROFLMAO: :p
