probably on par with your puntos valuation.

it maybe slightly older but it is a diesel and i think a better spec than your punto and a clio is a better second hand seller than a punto

But all cars are worth **** all at the minute with todays current looming recession

If it was any other car 1 grand for a small diesel would be a steal, but everyone I know with the model of clio has nothing but constant faults and massive garage bills. My uncles last one was 700 pounds after a water pump failure his car is an 04. My mate who has a 53 plate one spent 1000 pounds or there abouts and it still failed the M.O.T. 2 months later, then his handbrake broke, then renault lost the bits to fix it, seriously they said to him they lost the wagon with the bits in! so its still broke two weeks later.

i learnt to drive in one, nice car overall. not the fastest car going but more than enough poke to overtake with ease. Looks a lot better than it's rivals. drove a poverty spec petrol for my test which was cheap and nasty so try and get the better spec ones. handling is pretty good. the petrol one was alright on the motorway for a small car, the diesel would be a lot better though.

The only thing wrong with it is that it is french, so things may fall off,but about the same as a fiat really. My instructors clios air con exploded though.

Personally i wouldn't mind one myself! and i'm not a fan of small cars.

now is the time to buy! especially if you're looking for a car that gets less than 30mpg. cars that were £4k last year are often £2.5k this year because no one is buying cars that use a lot of fuel and cost more to tax.

a diesel clio should not be affected by this. its a diesel for a start so if anything its price this year should be the same as last year.

a 52 reg clio DCi with 60k is worth £2400-2850 depending on condition and service history. if you can get it for a grand then buy it and sell it for £2500 next week. you wont want to keep it, they're utter shyte.

yeh i did learn to drive in one, the exact car, had a decent turn of speed.

box and clutch were terrible, brakes weren't much better.

plus points are the mpg, remap potentionl, cheaper tax and much better spec than the punto.

oh and better for towing stuff.

if i had the cash id buy it and sell it on.

i would snap their hand off at 1k, borrow it off their parents etc

You will double money easy.

i would be interested in some details of it as well if you are going to pass this opportunity by
