Right, hope this right section. Got choice of CDTi SRi or VXR new corsa for company car, i have to pay fuel costs unless business miles. Which will work out better with cost of diesel on the up?
Cant remap corsa as company car so diesel be a lot slower but if petrol gonna cost me a fortune ill sacrifice a few seconds to 60.
VXR not seem that bad on mpg but diesel not seem too good?
Thoughts?

if you can live with the embarrassment of driving a VXR then go for it, personally it would have to be the SRi for me because you wont have teen chavs giving you the nod of approval.

35mpg in the VXR is very enthusiastic, but the CDTi gets over 60mpg if its 1.3 or just under 60mpg if its the 1.7 so the difference is huge compared to a VXR. realistically the CDTi will get twice the mpg of the VXR in real world driving.

Get the VXR... I think you'll regret it in future, plus the price of diesel is stupid. Imagine when you're driving your SRI and a VXR goes past... :D I'd be a bit pissed off.

Nothing embarrassing about driving VXRs at all. Teen chavs usually look out for lexus lights, loud exhausts, add on bodykits and MASSIVE spoilers on the boot etc... ;)

I have been told to get diesel by most people, i would like the vxr tbh and i get a new car every 7 months so i might get it and see how the fuel issue is, if not can always change to diesel.
Just a load more paperwork to change models :(
Got to be vauxhall unfortunately :(

Just work out how many miles you would do in it other than for business. If its loads then fair enough, the diesel will probably be better. But if its not, there probably wont be much difference in fuel costs. I take it tax/insurance will be paid for?

Having owned a "fast" diesel, well the fastest stilo anyway (Mjet 150) i would say go for the VXR. Every morning I wake up and wish i had a lythe, sporty, responsive petrol hot hatch outside *longs for 197 cup*.

:(

IMO there is no comparison if you're after driver enjoyment. Sure the stilo is fast but it just sounds like a hoover with a leak!

Sell it and buy the 197 you long for then

As stated, if you can change your car every 7 months, its not like thats to long to wait to find out what a cars like, at my company its 3 years (as with most), and thats when you have got to think long and hard about your purchase :D

i would say get the VXR but thats just me (y)
