someone i know restored a mk1 or 2 golf cabriolet. but then he moved out the country. presumably for his sin of selling his targa top porsche (late 80's) and concentrating on that! he's bald though so he's easy to spot in a convertible that's if you can keep up anyway. not a big fan of golfs. they're just so bland. 205's looked better even if they were french.

It's sort of a w hores abortion, classic looks on the outside if you can forgive the 5 doors but the dash is new school, the two don't marry,peeps who want a car like that want an old school dash too!!

I think it's the fact that if you have a nice looking original MK1 thats been looked after now, you feel more pleased about the car.

If they were to release that into the UK and everyone bought one, it wouldnt have the same effect as knowing you own a classic.

however it surely opens up the option for classic owners to import a mk1 shell?
