Hi everyone great site - learnt loads already in just 30 minutes - can see where i will be spending my day - don't think hubby will be too pleased though as I have found most of the answers to the reasons he gave for not doing my clutch. :worship:

Hi Great site with loads of info. I drive a P Reg yellow Fiat Barchetta what about you ?

I find during the week a two seater is great and boss does not ask me to run him here and there as he is too big and cannot get in and out of it (BONUS) but a weekend tends to prove a little difficult with hubby working.

I would not change her for all the tea in china though.

So walk or stay in is what the kids get told ....

Great chatting

Hi there sad to say you will not be seeing it driving around for a while. sent it to fiat for a new clucth came back with no oil and no sump plug they are denying any responsibility so now on the lookout for a reasonably priced sump or a quick fix

hi dave i drove the car from caledonia fiat to my house which i think is about 10 miles but i have been told that i cannot just fit a new sump plug as the thread in the aluminium sump has been stripped so i apparently need a new sump or send it away to have it drilled bigger and a bigger sump plug fitted. i have been advised not to start the car until i put oil in it. i don't know if the oil light came on or not while i was driving home, so i don't know if any other damage has been done. fiat apparently do something called a visual check on the car free of charge i think the technician saw that the plug was loose and i think he tried to tighten the plug and stripped it but as i cannot prove that, i don't have a leg to stand on. it amazes me how the car did not even have an oil leak before it went into them now it has no oil no plug and i cannot use the car. I have been told not to touch the car until i have gone down all the routes. so i am now waiting for a court date in small claims court as i honestly believe they are liable. what do you think ??? thanks for your message zoe

unless the garage gave you a full warning on what was wrong with it. they are fully 100% liable. they with held informatin that could of affected the drivability and saftey of your car. i honestly would write a very nippy and sugestive to fiat UK. and see if they jump to the bait.

hi thanks i have spoken to fiat uk but they are having none of it i will write a letter giving tham 7 days to reply and then i will start proceedings as suggested by another member. CAN I JUST SAY THANKS EVERYONE FOR YOUR SUPPORT. I will keep you all posted. HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND. zoeh
