Greetings from Hampshire from the newest kid on the block!
I have a lovely Cinque Sporting which shipped a lot of water whilst I was whizzing around in the puddles on Sat morning. The upshot of this is that I think it might have got water in through the induction filter and bent (at least) the conrod in #1 cyl The engine still runs but is hugely throaty and has very little power on aything other than the flat. I'm hoping to get a compression test done in the next couple of days and if the engine is damaged to the extent I think it might be, I feel it would be worth dropping the larger 1242 unit into place instead - why not "go large" for only an extra £40, or so?
I'll keep you posted as this (sorry) saga develops, and I DO hope that there is a happy ending at the end of it ..............
