hi guys just bought my 3rd Punto, k i love um but this is a different beast, for i have bougth the 1.8 HGT abarth version, only problem is some muppet has been playing with the sound system :stupid: :bang:  :bang:

anyway said muppet disconnected the cd changer and didn't leave the code with it  to top things off muppet also changed original MED head unit with lesser LOW model and rearranged the wiring to the power connections on back of radio. :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang:

head unit now needs to have code entered every time i switch on radio, does anyone have the correct wring arrangement for the power leads???

also i need to get some other parts, a "new" backshelf the old one has 2 6 x 9 speakers in, the door holder, its a small piece of metal, and 2 plastic caps on the back roof interior that always seem to come off, i'm missing one completely and other not looking so well:dead: :dead:

any good shops in and around berkshire where i can get said items???

Hi!, I only joined recently.

Sounds like you have got a real nightmare there! I myself have only recently acquired a Mk2 HGT ;-) just over 4 months ago and already it sounds like the back box or engine manifold is going as it's gradually starting to sound like Iv'e whacked one of those big bore exhausts on! (car is modified free all natural).

Anyways I don't have the exact answers you are looking for par se, but try if you haven't already, have a look at ebay first as I have seen some sellers sell a Punto CD manual which might solve your wiring problem and also from stuff I have bought there in the past if your lucky you may be able to source some parts for your beast, there are a few power sellers shops that even promote themselve as Fiat parts suppliers. I have to stress though that you MUST check their ratings and feedback scores, obviously stay away from people who have bought like a million things but only ever sold one item and a low valued one at that! :chin: :nono: As you know cars like yours and mine are rare now but although sourcing parts is sometimes difficult it is still achievable. I am sure that some of these knowlledgeable blokes on the F.Fourum will help you out?

Hope this helps you a little, good luck!

thanks guys well i just need to work out how to pull the wires on the power unit to the back of the new radio, i switch on and the radio says CHECK, i pretty sure this means the power wires, becasue i can see there are wrong, also when car i put car in reverse the light button on the radio turns on, that ain't supposed to happen.

How do i pull the wires?? i've taken the black cover case of and removed the yellow pin holder, but pulling the wires out is proving tricky, any ideas, and also a wiring chart ie black is ground red is alway on power etc. would really help
