Hi - I'm a Newbie and glad to have found this forum.

I am the proud owner of a Mk 2 Punto 1.2 8v W Reg. Nothing flash in know, but it's been a good little car in the 5 years I've had it - or at least until recently - hence the need to look for some help, advice and support. Found this forum through good old Google and now I'm looking forward to posting on it.
Anyone else from the Sunderland area with Punto Mk 2 stories to tell/share - and any advice on good mechanics/garages locally?

I have mobility problems and really need to find a GOOD garage where I can either have the car picked up/dropped off or I can get a lift home/pickup when the car needs to be at the garage. Bit of a bind, this *sighs*.

Cheers !

Hi welcome to the forum...

Have you done anything to the car at all?

Well, it depends what you mean by 'done anything to it'...:)

I'm not particularly mechanically minded, but I've been driving for over 30 years and I guess you can't drive for so long without picking up some idea of what goes on under the bonnet.

I haven't done any modifications, if that's what you mean, Seli_Babe.

Why do you ask ? :)

lol... i meant mods... sorry kinda my general consensus of Punto owners is 17-18 yr olds... with the odd older person, but they don't tend to come onto forums....

LOL. Oh dear, well - I guess I AM rather an 'odd older person'. Inside my head's only 17-18 if that counts ! It's only the rest of me that isn't a teenager any more *sobs uncontrollably*. :bang:

Tis what matters most... if feel young on the inside.. (isn't that what they say) ;)

Who's saying that ??? Who's this THEY ??? Porkies BIG TIME ! :)

In my experience, it's very frustrating being 17-18 on the inside and *coughs* much older on the outside. Inside is telling you to do something and the body is saying, 'Whoa there..!' :nono:

By the way, and to bring this back to the subject of cars, it means that I can no longer do any little odd jobs on the car (which once I would have had a go at) and so I have to rely on garages. And I can't for the life of me find a good one close by.

join me and steve 1219 then, both 40+ and driving modded puntos:D

Hi dave and steve 1219 !!!
That's reassuring - and a nice welcome. Thanks. :)

Except the part about 'driving modded puntos'. I have enough on to keep an ordinary one going, let alone doing anything extra to it.

I take my hat off to you both ! (y)

Errr Steve 1219 is 50+ and he is [LIKE ME young at heart]and a boy racer :p welcome to the forum jemmo(y)
