I Just thought I'd say a big 'hello' to you all!

Just joined the forum (about time, as I've owned my Uno Turbo for 10 years now!) Wish I'd found you before, it looks like a cool site with plenty of chilled out FIAT fans!

Now then, a bit about my car: it's a 1990 MK2 Uno Turbo in metallic gunmetal grey. (one of the first Mk2s, so no CAT to worry about, yay!) I got it for my 21st birthday (I still can't believe it!) I think I have my dad to thank mainly, as he is a bit of a FIAT nut as well, having owned quite a few, including a very nice black MK1 Strada 105TC, which he dearly wishes he had kept hold of, as do I!

My UNO is in nice shape, and has only done 104k, with loads of service history, and all the original manuals/paperwork etc. I am very attached to the car, and couldn't bear to part with it, so stuck it in the garage while I used a BMW as a daily commuter (sorry, but at least I can thank the beemer for keeping the Uno safely tucked away!) Just recently got the UNO back on the road, mainly weekend use only, and loving it! I decided to keep it totally standard (apart from a tasty pair of Infinity Kappa 6x9s on the rear shelf!), and am glad I did, as there are not many left now!

It is in bloody nice condition, going to get a bit of bodywork done round the driver's door and sunroof, then it will be near mint! It was off the road for a few years, but all it needed to get through the MOT was a new tyre and a bit of TLC - that rocks!

I am trying to find out from Fiat if it was actually their press car, as apart from one previous owner before me, it was owned by Fiat Auto UK demo department, and they clearly looked after it, so it's a bit special. Also, the number plate is similar to the one on the Mirafiori sport pictured in a brochure I have, so it makes me wonder. The last three letters on the plate are also 'FLP', is this coincidence, or could it be linked to 'Fiat London press car' or similar (or maybe I have an over active imagination?!)
If anyone can help me with my research, I'd appreciate it, and will owe them a few pints one day!!

Well, sorry to go on a bit, but I got carried away. I will be putting up some pics soon, and look forward to chatting to you all, and also getting down to some meets and shows.

Take it easy, Tim
