Hi - complete Newbie here! Have 1998 Fiat Ducato, Murvi Meteor conversion.
Urgent help needed - supposed to being going away in the van on Monday morning . ( now 8pm Sat night)
Wipers have given and it seems to relate to the Wiper Motor. Want to check the fuse, but cannot find the fuse box that is supposed to be in the Engine compartment. :bang:
Does anyone have a diagram ( can't fins any manuals on line) ? or have a similar aged Ducato who can tell us where to find the fuse box??
Would Murvi move the fuse box when converting into a Campervan?
Any help gratefully accepted!
Thanks Jaxok

Rather interesting you ask , as you should see them on opening the bonnet .

I have a 2000 , x230 should be the same layout , mine are on the offside inner wing , directly above the battery .

But i gotta add i'm not totally sure the wiper fuse is there !

The main fuse box is in the glove compartment base .

Okay just looked it up , it's in the main fuse box in the glove box . Fuse 3 , 15 amp , washers and wipers . Heated seat also listed though i doubt you have that . Information from owners manual year 2000 Ducato , x230 , 2.8 tdi .

Thanks for the info - after much digging around in the house, last night we found the old manual that come with the van when we bought it!
Have tried replacing the fuse.. no wipers still, so prob the motor.

Local garage have said they will have a look, but wouldn't be able to get the parts on a Sunday anyway.

Lesson learnt - check everything at least 2 weeks before you are due to go away ( having said that, the wipers worked two weeks ago!)

Hoping the weather is kind to us !
Will have to sort it when we get back...

It's likely to be a relay . Now they can be difficult to find as their not always in the same place on every van .
Mine are on the firewall , between the heater hoses and brake master cylinder . There are two , one taller than the other . You may also like to note , there may even be a third block with them . This is purely a connector block . I say may , as i have a connector block cable tied to the wiring , with evidence it was once attached to the firewall .
As for the relays , i'm not sure what the lower one does , maybe someone else does , but it's a standard 4 pin , and most motorist shops actually carry them
The taller one controls the wash/wipe , and parking . That is an unusual 6 pin , and won't usually be stocked by those same suppliers . I sourced one from a 4x4 centre , just so happens early Range rovers , known as classic , also used the same relay .

The screen washer works, hence why don’t think it’s the relay. Garage have had a look and say it is the motor. Just trying to find one that would be delivered to my morning so garage can fit before we run out of time.
Car and tent on standby .
Thanks again for your help.

Well be carefull , the motors are freely available , but watch the price .

One motorhome company is knocking them out for 300 quid , yet the standard Duke version is around 30-40 quid . As best i can tell , there is no difference .
