Hi everyone!

I've had a bit of bad luck with my newly bought Multipla (4 months ago!!) - the timing belt snapped when I was driving.

Now the mechanics have told me that I need to replace the belt first and then see if there is any damage to the engine..

Does anyone know if the engine for the 2000 Multipla JTD 105 diesel model is interference or non-interference?

This would help me make the decision to try and fix it or sell it to the wreckers

Its worth a £20 belt to see if it will run

But along with most diesels.. it is an interference engine

Obviously.. if it does run ok

Investigate which bearing cause the old belt to break

Thanks for your reply- I had the sinking feeling that it was interference.

The mechanic has quoted 100€ - 150€ euros to replace the belt, maybe in Spain prices are a bit steeper.

If you cant change the £20 belt yourself 'for free'

Its probably not worth continueing
