Hi I’m brand new to the forum so thanks for letting me join,
I have just bought a fiat doblo 1.3 multijet van,
Starts and runs great until it’s warm and I turn it off for ten minutes or so then it’s taking some starting,
If I turn it off then start it straight away it’s ok, it’s just when it’s left for a bit,
Please please any advice would be much appreciated thanks mark

If it seems to turn over slowly..


It could be a failing Earth lead from battery to chassis - engine

( tell us what the glowplug symbol on the dash is doing..)

On the dashbpard there is s 'curlywire' symbol for the glowplugs

It should be on for @10 seconds before a cold start.. and only a few seconds for a warm start

Compare the 2..

ALSO.. see IF the light flashes AFTER the engine has started

If it's OK when cold and only failing to start when hot, I'd suspect the cam position sensor. Old ones have a tendancy to stop working when hot and the engine won't start without a good signal from it.

Easy to get to on the 1.3 diesel and cheap to replace.
