Seicento Seicento Sporting 2000 SPI

Introduction

Hi guys, my name is Antonio, I write from Italy and I am the owner of a 2000 Spi Seicento Sporting, to which I try to pay him attention and make some changes.
I have already started to customize it, and I made some small changes to the engine, exhaust 421 of the Punto 75, I removed the catalyst, mounted the throttle body of the 75 and just yesterday I also mounted the camshaft. I greet you and see you soon with more photos and maybe if you have some advice for me.
the old rims were very damaged, and I decided to restore 14 Borbets with 2cm spacers and new tires
I installed a new Sparco knob, a sports steering wheel, water temperature gauge, oil, oil pressure and a voltmeter. New Sparco mats. The future, long-term project is to mount a nice 1.4 16v engine underneath and for this I am updating the braking system with 257mm discs at the front, and 240mm at the rear. As a set up I went on Eibach -3cm springs and Bilstein B6 shock absorbers.

yes, I also have an Alfa 159 1.9 120cv, properly remapped, but I try to keep it as original as possible, it's the family car. On the Seicento I mounted a remapped eprom, taken by a German guy, and I must say that the car now pulls very well. Plus I'm trying to use the new carbon intake.

the punto 75 here doesnt have that, just an airbox straight on top of the throttle body. And the palio is a really really rare car here, never officially sold in the uk - everyone i know with that bob has bought from abroad as we literally have nothing with them here.

I'm good, my cinq has a p75 engine and a carbon dexcraft intake with a bmc carbon airbox on end of it ;) http://www.dexcraft.com/fiat-carbon...nquecento-seicento-carbon-air-intake-kit.html

good evening guys. I am about to mount the 1.4 16v under my Seicento, by now I think I have taken all the parts, only engine oil, some gaskets and a lot of patience are missing. I have to redo the distribution to the engine, has anyone ever delayed the exhaust camshaft so as to have the same cam diagram of the 1.2 16v 85hp? these cams have the same duration and lift as those of the 1.4, but only the exhaust camshaft is 8 degrees retarded. I thank you that you know how to help me

thanks for your interest. It's been a long time since I wrote and there have been some updates. The brake calipers have been overhauled, painted and mounted with new discs and pads.
I also adapted the handbrake cable so it finally works as it should. another step was to mount the trim and camber plates.

i like your car ant the plans you have for it!
did you drive the car with that suspension setup? can you write a short review, how do you like it so far?

not really, its a pretty simple swap generally - but simplicity depends entirely on the way you do the wiring..

I see you posted in the guide by Dan, that is correct wiring wise but yours being a seicento wire colours might not be the same. It makes more sense to use pin numbers than colours.. Theres a post on a thread somewhere by ycming that has the cento side pin numbers, when i did my swap like 10 years ago i cross referenced that with Dans guide and it all married up, but this is mainly helpful if you have the punto engine loom, getting hard to find them. Heres the post anyway https://www.fiatforum.com/cinquecen...h-rebuild-1-4-16v-conversion-6.html?p=2905034

whats your plan with wiring? you got a mk1 p85 engine loom or modifying your existing loom?
If you have the 16v loom you can follow the guide to the letter and it will work, if you are modifying the existing engine loom then i suppose all you need is to look at the punto wiring diagrams and you should be able to compare the wire colours on Dans guide to the diagrams and get the pin numbers. Write down what pins on the engine side of the D4 need to go to what pins on the body side of the D4, then just sit and either cut and solder the wires or just de-pin and move the wires for a super clean install.

punto wiring diagrams can be found here https://www.fiatforum.com/downloads.php?categoryid=41 or you can use the ones in the back of a mk1 punto haynes manual

As i say though, exactly what you do depends on what your plan is. But take your time, write down what you are doing so you have it to hand before you start changing anything and you should be fine.

I have the wiring of the punto mk1 available, but not in perfect condition, so I will modify the original wiring of the Seicento. I'll have to fix the wire to control the second pair of injectors, fix the Maf and maybe something else I don't remember. I will have read and reread almost all the various posts of the forum, to get as much information as possible, they were very useful, but I always trust in your help. I will try to keep my discussion as up to date as possible.

I think if i did it again I'd modify the existing loom actually as the punto has the ecu on the other side you only need to extend a few wires to have the ecu in the cento location but you end up with a big length of engine loom that for a clean install wants shortening.

Its been so long now since i did this that i'm not going to be much help on specifics i don't think really, but its mostly simple. Injectors are batch fire so that bit is easy at least

It's been a long time now, for family reasons and no, I had to postpone the swap several times. But this time I started for real and it's my first time to change an engine. The first day I disconnected all the wiring, taking care to write down the various types of sensors and managed to pull the motor down. Today I started fitting the new clutch, cleaning the gearbox well but they called from my daughter's school and I had to stop to pick up the baby. I will resume work next week and I think I will turn to you for advice and help. some photo

hi guys, as you can see the works are going on and the engine has been mounted under the car. Obviously the clutch, timing, spark plugs, spark plug cables and more have been changed first. From Monday we will start with the cut and sew for the wiring and something else that needs to be adapted. Could someone be able to help me with the coolant hoses and the petrol vapor filter? I am looking for information on connections.
