Hi,

I'm trying to resolve an issue on my Dad's Fiat 500L, 1.3L Multijet Diesel.

He's getting Start Stop unavailable and EML come on so checked the codes and we're getting P2563 and P0238.

This was indicating a sensor on the turbo, as the battery hadn't been replaced since new we decided to try that as a first troubleshooting method with no success.

We then ran an EGR diesel cleaner through the system as it said it helps clean the turbo system and airflow system. This seemed to help a little but the issue is back.

The weird thing is, if we let it warm up then clear the code. Restart the car it's then perfectly fine until it's cooled back down again.

Any advise appreciated.

Hi Ryan :)

The 500l is a bit 'niche' in the uk

Might be better looking in 'tech talk'.. as the motors are in most FIAT products

So..

You have to be wary of VAG centric kit giving odd Code meanings on the FCA vehicles

Your 0238 was boost signal HIGH..

Sorry I didn't see your reply,

So possibly that the DPF Is blocked?

The car does seem to be performing better after we ran one spray can of Wynns EGR cleaner through, we were planning on doing a second can possibly to see if that helps shift the final bit of dirt. Otherwise we were a bit stuck.

Just as an update for anyone who's experiencing this issue with the same car and engine, I managed to clear down the fault code and add a bottle of Wynns Diesel Turbo cleaner after filling up my fuel tank. I then took the car out on a long run where I was able to reach the national speed limit and effectively get the revs working harder than normal for much longer. I'm pleased to say that I've not had the EML come back on since and the car appears to be running smoother once more. Hopefully this continues to be the case 🤞

Hi. I have error codes P2563 and P0238 on my FIAT TIPO 1.3 multijet. Did you have the same codes and did it come right after using Wynn's Turbo Diesel Cleaner? Please let me know. Thanks
