Hi all. New to Forum. Just purchased 18 plate 500 Lounge. Spotted a small niggle with the drivers door internal handle. It seems a bit loose and when depressed to lock the doors it wont work. It does lock when driving away and also on fob. It also opens the door with no problem. I've taken the door panel off and had a look at the mechanism, but all seems to be intact.

So when you had access to the mechanism

Did it lock ok?

Hi Varesecrazy.

With door pad off, I moved the mechanism back and forth to simulate the handle moving but it didn't seen to lock/activate.
As I say, it locks when driving away and with fob.

The plastic sleeve at the internal handle end of the cable needs to be slotted into the mechanism of the internal handle in the right place, if it’s not then the handle will be pointing inwards a bit and often will actually stop the door locking at all as it’s got too much tension on the cable.

Have a look at that end.

Thanks.. that is electrical ( and working fine )

Its obviously the mechanical input thats non functional

Use SEARCH.. you can select 500 only..
