is it OK to use a high pressure fuel pump on a 1983 x19 fuel injected system? Original calls for 38psi with a 28psi regulator, so will a 70 psi pump work assuming that the regulator will open and allow excess back to the tank?

Hi
The principle of excess fuel returning is ok..

But you will be over Double..

So could pressurise the return lines.. and obviously risk compromising the tank vents


It Might work fine.. but I would be cautious.
( Mine was on Carbs.. so I didnt have this issue)

Do you get emails saying you have been quoted ..or mentioned on Fiat Forum..?

I don't think that would be a good idea as it would be asking an awful lot more from the regulator than it was designed for.
