Hello all,

I have recently bought a 2013 Twin Air Panda 4x4 so I have done the only sensible thing and joined this forum.

Quirky thing isn't it? It's an off white colour so the good lady has nick named it "The Tooth" as, well, it reminds her of a tooth.

Anyway, so far so good, hopefully there won't be too many questions.

The tooth? A bizarre name. Perhaps you should brush it/ clean it a bit more often :D

A big welcome to the forum from the Cotswold Hills!

Yep it is a quirky thing - that's exactly what I thought when I acquired mine back in August!

Mine is a 2014 4x4 and I'm sure you will have a few questions eventually as I did.

The first thing i did when I got mine was get it to a FIAT specialist and get it checked over and serviced regardless of history.

Apparently, the type of engine oil used is very important (should be Petronas Selenia Digitek Pure Energy 0W-30, Fully synthetic)

I'm sure other brands would be ok but seem that this is something of a well discussed topic in these forums  and as this is my first Italian job I'm inclined to listen carefully to the advice of those that know more than me ;)

It has just had a service at Fiat on September and had done 700 miles since. One of the things that attracted me to the car was the condition and mileage - just under 14k. Despite that mileage, it had been serviced to the time schedule, even if it had only done a couple of thousand miles a year. The previous owner apparently used it as a second car to his Maserati. I'll get the oil though, it's always the most important thing in any car.

It is pretty clean though and as a bit of a geek detailer, it's gonna get some polishing done!

White and silver are two of the most difficult colours to make look shiny but if you are a geek detailer - you may already know that. You may also already have an account on the excellent Detailing World website :)

To get white and silver cars looking shiny I favour Colinite 845 wax applied after a good polishing with Autoglym SRP (y)

Yes, I’m already over on Detailing World, been there since 2006! Seen a lot of products, used a lot of products and can offer lots of advice if anyone needs it. On light colours, the best thing to do is go to town on decontamination and polishing. Nothing makes a light car shine like optically clean and polished paint. On that, optically clear products to protect will be the best for the shine and this tends to be sealants.

There are likely newer products and techniques than I'm using so I'm always interested in what other people use. Ive always been impressed by the shine from Colinite 845 though
