Hi all,

As the title suggests, my wife's panda has been sat for a long time and after starting it up, I had no throttle response, with the codes:

P1121 - throttle position (track 1)
P1220 - throttle valve position
P1300 - phonic wheel learn

I've cleaned the throttle body and performed a relearn, and used multiscan to check the accelerator position modulation which is fine.

Tomorrow I will clean all the connections I can with contact cleaner.

Does anyone have any ideas please, as its too good to scrap, but not worth taking to the main stealers!

Many thanks!

if the cars been sat around

i would suspect damp has got into the electrical connector. Try disconnecting and a small squirt of wd40

charge the battery before testing

Electronic pedal, but I've swapped the pedal with a spare from a scrapper, and checked the output on multiscan.

Battery is freshly charged and its been dry stored, non the less, I've tried a squirt of wd40 in the connectors (ecu, throttle body etc), still no joy.

Many thanks for the reply.

Is the relearn the process of ignition on/off for a minute, run till hot and repeat ignition sequence (don't touch the throttle)?

Battery is fine now and been on the battery conditioner.

should relearn itself. Once the battery been disconnected for awhile

we had a discussion on here awhile back

someone put the cam belt on a tooth out and ran the car without an error light. When the correct the belt the engine light came on. Just needed the battery disconnecting starting and left to idle.

Older Punto's yes. So there might be a small chance if its an early 05.

normally the symptoms is the engine light flashing at High revs.

MultiECUscan has a option to relearn but you can do it with no throttle response

P1121 should be the accelerator pedal or the ECU connector or wiring between the two

Reseat the ECU would be a Good start

does your scanner read both tracks of the accelerator pedal

does you 4x4 have hill assist

Hi Koalar,

I've done an ECU reset (battery off for a couple of hours) , and it will now rev (hesitantly) to 2500rpm, but no higher.

I'm using MultiscanECU (free version), which I doesn't as far as I know show both tracks, but have fitted a replacement pedal unit to no avail.

No hill assist on this model.

Any other thoughts - I don't want to go to the expense of getting another ecu!

Sorry, its probably me having go the wrong end of the stick from somewhere.

I though the relearn was done through a ignition sequence, but I am very much more than happy to know the correct way! At no point has it reved beyond the 2500rpm I was able to get out of it today.

I have the free version of fiat multiscan.

I had a quick look at the connections and they looked okay - is it worth getting a wiring diagram and testing point to point resistance to check cabling?

First code is a mismatch between track 1 and 2 (k55)

this is the diagram for the silio which has very similar wiring even the fuses have the same numbers

unfortunately the diagram for the panda appears to have the pedal missing

the thin line above it is a connector (b7,b6) in the engine Bay somewhere. Should be able to find it if you follow the big bungle of wire that come into the engine bay behind the glovebox. and the bit above that is the ECU
