Hi new here and ti Fiat, only ever driven Fiat commercials before though I
have worked on one or two back 60'/70's, anyway I have just bought this
to replace a 139,000 mile Clio.

It's a 06 1.3 Diesel Panda, one owner 21,000 "just run in" looks like it's been
sprayed underneath with something like waxhol, one or two small things to do
to make it my own in the meantime hopefully sell the Clio.

I had mine shot blasted and zinc metal sprayed. I paid £80 but another £20 would have had it epoxy painted over the top. Job done for ever.

Reasons why - it's a spec used on fishing trawlers so no worries about it rusting ever again.

Reasons why not - It's overkill and you can now get a new axle for £150. But the new paint won't be up to much and simply painting over it won't help when the base coat is rubbish.

Been wading through all the paper work that came with it org bill of sale radio code
service book mot's owners book, only thing not found is the emergency immobiliser
code but it may yet come to light as I haven't yet had a good look.

Seems to be two iol filters for the 1.3 Diesel, is there a quick way
of telling which is fitted without pulling the filter?

Don't know about the diesel but the 1.2 petrol had two different diameters and one of those came in two lengths. I kept meaning to make a note but each time had to slip on a screw type filter strap to be sure.

This is a element type sits under a plastic cover that sits under a metal shield
not something I have come across before,
If I have to I will take it out but would rather have the new filter first if possible.

Thanks for that, it looks like I will have to remove the cover
and see if I can see the makers name, if not it's a pull it and see,
cover is only held by 2 torque screws as far as I can see.

My cover is held on by 3 screws, then you need the oversized socket to remove the plastic cover. To be honest I use a set of mole grips as I don't have a socket large enough.

Thanks for that have only noticed 2 but I think you will be right,
by all accounts if it as a filter housing made by SOGEFI or PURFLUX it
as the shorter filter without the plastic extension,
If UFI it as the filter with extension.

It's not really going t be any help but the filters I use are 501721298 Crosland Oil Filter. I guess I just got luck the first time i ordered.

Hi again
The remote key could do with a new case, only problem after removing the screw
under the badge, it is a 2006 mod with blue fob 3 button and the battery in a compartment
were the back lower half of the case comes off not the type shown on most how to's
that have the battery behind the folded key, the top of the case will open but it is still
held right at the bottom, do I just need to use more force or is there something I
don't know about?
