Welcome to the FIAT forums - you're certainly in the best place; lots of good info and friendly help can be found here id you look/ask in the right places.

Congratulations on the new wheels - lets hope they definitely don't give you a headache :D

Welcome. As an ex Bravo owner I think you have made a great choice. Bravo 1.6D delivered 86mpg on a long run and I am sure would have done over 100mpg with extreme care, Also did an easy 100mph cruise where legal. Combined with good reliability I did 100K miles in mine before noisy gearbox made me change very reluctantly.

Sticking egr valves are common so I recommend regular use of wynns or similar diesel cleaner, After using this every two or three tanks I never had a problem again.

Do change the gearbox oil I would suggest each 40 -50K miles too to prevent the issue I had. I towed a caravan and I think it was that that killed the gearbox. I have to say the contempt it showed to towing was astounding and it is to date the best tow-car I have ever driven. The engine was as good or better than new when I sold him.

Tyres were thrown out at 62K with 3mm of tread remaining and only 1 set of brakes were fitted in my time with the car.

I tried the Tipo and was very impressed indeed and think its the most underrated car out there. I am sure it will serve you well. Good luck.

A most interesting message from Panda Nut? Wynns additive has never been recommended by any motor manufacturer to my knowledge or they would add the stuff in original supply.
100mpg is an interesting guess but fanciful, optimistic and impossible. (smile) I have a 1.3 Tipo and I can get 71.2 over 1000 miles driven sensibly, mainly motorway at 57mph staying in the company of the HGV's. I think towing would reduce that by 20% at least.
If you spend extra by having shell or BP premium fuel you will not get the EGR problems you advise of.
Your tyre wear is fantastic with only 65% of tread gone at 62k. You must be cruising on long journeys?
I took delivery of a front wheel drive Volvo 850 2lt and needed new fronts at 21k. I was most unhappy but the tyre fitter said that was good as 10-12k was normal.
