hi all. I have a 2011 punto evo sporting. The following have just stopped working all at once. Hill start, start stop, reverse lights, air con, rear demister, front fog/cornering lights and when I use high beam the front lights go out. I have just replaced the brake light switch. Error code on a OBD reader says brake booster sensor. The brakes work as good as before. Any ideas as myself and some mechanics are puzzled. Many thanks ?

First thing to do is check the fuse boxes there are 3 of them in the punto Evo as so many things have gone wrong all at once I’d be looking at main supply’s to the fuse box and possibly the ignition switch as well, did you manage to knock or unplug something when you changed the brake switch.

Hi I've had the car for 2 years and this is the first issue I've had. The start/stop hill start etc just appeared on dashboard last Saturday. Was just driving along and it just appeared on dash. Thanks

sorry I forgot about the lights. So when I 'flash my lights the headlights go off. Fog lights don't work nor the cornering lights

Hi I have only checked the fuse box under the bonnet. I wasn't aware of any more. Without sounding dumb where are they?

Having had a brake switch failure twice on our Seat and having seen the odd things like ECU warning light glowing as a result I suspect this is something silly like a faulty replacement switch. I would check the main earth from the battery carefully as well before going too far. Also disconnect the battery and let leave it off for half an hour before reconnecting so the whole system rests. Make sure of your radio code first and be prepared to rest all the internal computer settings afterwards as well. If you disconnect the battery, take it out of the car and recharge it while you have the opportunity so when you reconnect you know you have full voltage to everything. I hope you have success getting back to normal.

There is a fuse box behind the glove box and another in the boot behind the left rear wheel, and behind the carpet in the boot, there is a shaped cut out in the boot carpet to be able to get to it.

Further to what was said by Panda Nut have you tried putting the old switch back in to see if the new switch is causing the errors ? maybe you've been supplied with the wrong switch ?

The switch was a recommendation to replace. The brake lights have always worked so I changed it as I was told it could cause other issues mentioned.

I have located thr glove box fuses but the location you said in boot there is no fuse box there. Help!!!!!

I have removed the left side lining of the boot and there is no fuse box nor is there anything in fact in that location. Its a sporting evo 2011 1.4 turbo. Any ideas anyone.

should be in the boot as per the picture, mine is the diesel version of the same car sporting model. I however don’t think finding it is going to be the most important thing for you, I suspect the problem is somewhere up front, you’ve changed the switch for the brake if you still have the old one and see if things go back to how they where before, or even just remove the switch entirely and see what the situation is, first rule of fault finding undo what ever you just did, then start looking at everything around what you did to see if you’ve knocked a wire out or accidentally unplugged something.

My old 1.9hgt mk2 Punto had a plug under the fuse box not fitted properly from new so it would get intermittent problems with the cruise control very difficult to track down but obvious once you find a plug that’s not clicked in properly

My car manual says 3 but I have had the boot lining out and nothing on the rear passenger side whatsoever. On the other side is the fiat speaker system so am at a loss as to where this 3rd fuse box is. Maybe there isn't one. Confused

Well if it’s not there it’s not there but to be honest from the sounds of things that’s the least of your worries

Hi regarding this post I replaced a 7.5amp fuse located in the glovebox and left the battery on charge for 24 hours. Upon starting the vehicle all the codes have disappeared so I would like to thank everyone who took the time to reply and offer help. I am still bemused that a tiny blade fuse could cause such issues. We live and learn. Thank you all again. Everything is back to working as it should.Keep safe. Kevin
