Hi and hello. My little Doblo 2007 1.9jtd 8 valve is in disgrace arrived home from the motorway via AA recovery truck. Cut out dead no sputtering jus immediate dead.
Morning after released fuel filter bleed screw cranked and it fired up down the road and back parked up all running fine. 4 hours later no start so let’s sort this.
Tank pump out check pump filter, apply 12v to pump working.
Brown wire earth connected continuous Blue white no live when ignition on
Check fuse and relay both ok. Bridge 30 and 87 fuel pumping Try to start won’t fire.
Where to next does the tank pump run continuously or just to prime high pressure pump? Is the ECU in control of this process?
Cheers.

Hi thanks for your interest and reply I am not sure what the fire prevention button is ? Where it is? and what is it’s function? Any input // information would be much appreciated. My vehicle is a 2006/7 fiat Doblo highroof MPV fitted with 1.9 jtd 8 valve Diesel engine.
Thanks George

Hi thank you for your replies I located the inertia switch this morning and it didn’t require a reset so checked out supply to relay 85 and 86 got continuity on 85 earth I think and 8.62 volts at 86 not sure what that meant? So decided to charge the battery which I think could be suspect and do something else for a bit. The something else didn’t take long and I found myself giving the engine several coats of looking at with a puzzled expression. Whilst randomly poking and checking wiring connection for tightness I touched the plug that goes into the sensor at the rear of the high pressure pump it was tight but you could rock it in its holder and was easy to pull out Which I usually fight to get these type of plugs out but the clip was not holding it in . A few moments to investigate the clip Check the pins make sure it was working and the plug now seated properly and bottomed correctly when the clip held it.
Battery on fired up straight away. Have I cured it ? Did I find the problem? Time will tell I reckon. I have been stop starting using it all afternoon and up to now all is good.
Thanks for your input and help
Cheers George

Hi no don’t think so It just wasn’t far enough in and the clip not latched this vehicle had a new engine some 5/6 years ago before I owned it ( major turbo failure I think) I assume it wasn’t pushed in/connected proper then if that was the prob and I think/ hope it was it has taken a long time to manifest itself as a major problem. Anyway fingers crossed it’s cured now to deal with a noisy (bearing gone)air con .
Cheers George.

All is well with the doblo.
Managed to cure the rattling AC pump. Decided cause the Air Con never worked didn’t need it to fit the shorter belt a1054 and just let the crank drive the Alternator and Power steering pump. This mod needs the removal of the idler pulley, not so simple because the bolt is quite long which I turn means cutting the bolt or removing the engine mount and letting the engine down so the bolt misses the chassis member and bolt removal/ idler pulley removal is possible.
Any way job done all is fine. Cheers George.

Whilst checking over the Doblo have realised/ noticed front tyres are scrubbing out bad to much toe in. l did replace the front wheel bearings wishbones disc pads in July at 148000 miles I didn’t think this would have altered the tracking by that much if at all. I’m annoyed because the front tyres where in good order loads of life in them not so now I’m afraid.I have altered the tracking ( by old fashioned string measurement )to give approx 5 mm toe out.I will get it checked proper before I replace the tyres.
Any body got the correct tracking figure?
Cheers George.
