Hello everyone,

Good to be part of the Fiat Forum...:)

The temperature control on my Fiat Panda Eleganza has stopped working normally... when using the Aircon it is either very cold or very hot when i try to change the temperature. to get it to change i have to either set it to very hot or very cold.

Can anyone advise me how to fix or resolve this problem.

Many thanks...:)

Hi

This is probably an issue with control of the flaps within the heater box

A common issue is broken drive.. but as you seem to have SOME control

It is worth attempting a reset of the system

Ive never done mine.. but if you use the forums search you will find the info

Do let us know how you get on

If setting it to full hot, or full cold, causes the flaps to move to deliver what was requested, the control flap motors and connections should be ok.

Quite possibly it is just not responding to the internal temperature of the car, so a minor adjustment has little or no effect.

In the centre of the panel is a small round grille. Inside this is the temp sensor. The grille gets filled with fluff, and the temp sensor takes a long time to respond to temp changes inside the car. (Mine was like this when I first got it.)

Run the vacuum cleaner soft brush gently over this grille to remove the fluff. This may be all it needs. Worked a treat on mine.

My symptoms when I first got the car (it was 4 years old).
As the outside temp dropped, the car did not respond, allowing the occupants to get quite chilly before it woke up and added warmth.
When chilly outside, but warming up, inside we would cook before it woke up and gave us some cooler air.
Once the grille was cleaned out, it responded quickly and reliably, and is still doing so ten years later. (That'll jinx it)

Edit: Just realised you've posted in the 'classic' section. This is for the original square box Panda. Section needed is 'Panda'.
