Hi folks,

I have an aged but lovely 1993 Cinquecento with a heater blower problem and I therefore wondered if any one has a pdf of the workshop manual that I might have?

Very many thanks to you all

Frank

I think there is a manual in the downloads section on this site, however, it is in Italian. Perhaps you could use it and also google translate.

I agree ebay is a good place to look for a manual. I picked one up there a couple of months ago for 99p (plus £2.50 postage).

Searching just now on ebay the cheapest I can see at the moment is £5.36 including postage.

Hi Jamie,

Thank you for responding and thank you to everyone else for your manual suggestions.

The blower has ceased to function.

When the three way heater switch is turned to any of the three settings it appears that there is power being drawn as the dashboard warning lights dim!

I disassembled the three way dash switch and cleaned it up and verified that it worked fine with a voltmeter but once it was reinstalled (correctly BTW) the same problem reoccured.

Very many thanks

Frank

Dear Frank,

I agree with what Varesecrazy has said; I would suspect the resistor pack. The item in question (please confirm part#!) can be bought from (amongst other places) here if confirmed faulty:

As for the switch, are you "merely" checking continuity with the meter? It may be that the contacts behave somewhat differently under load. Trying another switch is a quick test if one is available. Are there any scrap-yards near you? Good old ebay is also an option and you can get OEM parts from people breaking these cars.

Additionally/alternatively, the issue may be a degenerated heater fan motor ground connection.

Please keep us updated!
