Hi everyone, I have a fiat 500 twin air sport and it’s quite low, it’s the style of the car! it hasn’t been lowered.
Does anyone know if I can get it put up a bit?
It scrapes sometimes when I go over things or bumps!

Raising it might not stop it scraping, better damping is the answer.

Abarths are lower, its better damped and stiffer, the later Series 3 & S4s don't scrape because the body is under better control

No worries:)

If you do change it you need to check if it affects your insurance, there are damper kits from people like Koni or Bilstein, not cheap, though:shrug:

Its probably just the rubber strip underneath that is catching, it sounds bad, but doesn't cause damage unless you go nuts over the bumps! so may not be worth doing anything. Your car, your choice(y)

I know the 500 Pop Auto or Dualogic has a 4.1” ground clearance and we scrape coming out of driveways. The 500 Pop with the manual is worse because it has an air dam on the bumper. The 500 Sport doesn’t have the air dam but it is lower than the Pop. Adjustments.JPGAdjustments.JPG

Hi and welcome :)

How many miles on it..?

(Trying to assess wear and tear..) ;)

What does it rub on..? front bumper area.. under car.. exhaust..

It means little to me..as I dont own a 500 :)
but can you give us the figures from the side of tyres

195/50 17 185/65 16 as examples ;)

Ive got 3'identical cars..'
1 scrapes.. turns out the front spring is a little bit shorter :(

Simple test:

Parked on the level..
See how many fingers between wheel and arch 'thump pointing up..'

Probably 3..

Is it the same at each corner ?
My scraping car isnt...

You have tried going slower? A speed hump beside me cars crash over it making terrible noises my low Mazda will scrape if you go too quickly, go slower and no problem, it's the spring compression on the downward phase that's the issue sometimes
