I’ve just become the happy owner of a 1990 Fiat ? Sergio Tacchini. Currently SORN, I have big ambitions for my little car. I’ve only just taken delivery and need to get the structural rust sorted ASAP, but I’m going to be doing a nuts and bolts resto on it.

In the near future I will posting some classifieds, once I strip it down, for the fabric interiors and the whole ICE setup including fuel tank, exhaust, engine, etc. I would love to have the bits which I don’t need go on other working Pandas. It has 30 years body wear and tear but only just over 61000 miles.

Fourth Panda in our family, from a Black and White WWF SE in 1981 to this one. :)

Wonderful.
Pics please
Is it carb or fuel injection?

The only pics I have at the moment are those from the seller. I’m waiting for it to be professionally detailed including steam cleaning the engine bay. They can’t do that until After 1st June due to the restrictions.

It’s a carb.

Did you have to by the new one because your current three refused to breed in captivity?

I had a black e reg 1000 s

If you find a flat spot around 30mph in top gear it's nothing to do with carburetor, it's ignition that's if it still has it's points ignition.

OOOh. Looking under that bonnet brought back memories. The first Panda in the family was a 750 with carb and distributor. Bought for my daughter (now grown up with her own family) to learn to drive. It was the cheapest insurance we could find at the time. As Jack says distributors are always suspect if you're experiencing poor running. Ours used to amuse me with the way it made the needle on my dwell meter jump around.

Great idea having externally adjustable dwell , but bit pointless(ha ha) on a four cylinder motor , and shocking (ha ha) variance on dwell meter/sloppy production tolerance.
