Hello new to the group have a 2017 tipo 2nd hand working fine today when dab cut out and displays (see pic) Station unavailable, tried changing stations works for a few seconds then get same message. Tried resetting now rescanning does not find any stations except the one on the pic. Could it be ariel, everything else works fine USB phone am/fm apps. If ariel how do you take it apart to check or best to take to a dealer? Please advise many thanks.

I had similar but took my back to the dealer to be repaired under warranty. I don't know what they did and my issue was only with DAB....
They didn't have it long it fix it.

Thanks Mine same only dab not working at the moment don't think it's under warranty still so may have to take to my local fiat dealer.

Mine did that.

It was working perfectly for just over a year, then most stations started to go.

They replaced the Arial base under warranty.

If the warranty has expired take it to a independent garage and safe yourself some cash

I have also had an issue with the base of my DAB aerial - it kept losing the signal and some stations wouldn't work at all.

This part will be replaced under warranty once the lockdown has ended.

Seems like this may be a common issue on Tipo's.

Also have now issues , Been looking into this ,and found out it could be the Ariel base being damp , As it has been raining here allot ?? Maybe this is the case ??

I've had my aerial base off recently to see if there's anything I can do with it, but looks pretty solid , new ones are like £100 , could an aftermarket unit be fitted instead ? A noticed there's an Audi sharkfin style one I've seen with 3 connectors, but it's also powered ?

hi guys. newbie here. bought 2nd hand 2017 tipo last month and same issue with DAB. Just doesn't get any stations

has anyone replaced their aerial base? if so, what is the cheapest way around it?

thanks

I had the same on my 2018 Tipo - it started to lose DAB stations after 12 months, going into Autumn. It recovered a bit in better weather and lockdown meant I didn't take it back after an initial look-over by the dealer. Then last Autumn it started to deteriorate again and I linked it to periods of rain. Dealer did a software update which only lasted a few weeks (possibly because the weather was dry) and then it flagged up an error code relating to the aerial base apparently.

Since that was replaced under warranty a couple of months ago it's been spot-on, whatever the weather. Same problem affects some Alfa Giulietta's too, which could have the same part.
