Howdy mate, welcome to loonsville, you don't have to be mad to own a Fiat - just that by owning one you are already

(Say's he that has owned 7 ugly bugs and still owns #7 )

Welcome to the world of grimy finger nails, sore knuckles and some of the best, most friendly people on the planet - you need help, just shout and someone will ansa your call.

George

Sorry for the delayed reply, I was 'stuck' in Portugal and only got back on Saturday - I think I should have stayed put.

By the way, we won't have you shot for gettin the wrong shed but the purest's believe there was ONLY one real Multipla an that was the UGLY BUG.

Welcome to Shawshank

Well, that ain't quite true, but as a real, original 600 Multipla (the one originally designed to allow a farmer to take his pig to market - yes, it's true!) is now the sole preserve of the rich and famous, the '99-'04 model is as good as most of us will get the chance to own. I'm waiting for the 2019 Q4 stats to land on the HowManyLeft site, then I'll try to put together a State of the Market piece, as the early ones are now getting rare - and good ones very rare. If you're going to buy, now's the time, current covid travel restrictions notwithstanding. Some models may completely disappear in the next year or two and they certainly can't get much cheaper.

WMF: Hope you're bearing up under the strain mucka, since getting back from beautiful, sunny every day Porky is: - her in doors has 'found' gallons of 'jobs' that now can't 'wait' till tomorra, she wants em all done yesterday. So much for the lock down, more like locked in and can't escape - what did De Frain do with that rock hammer?

Anyway, I digress (as usual), you are spot on bro, the 600 was the original Multipla and yes, it was invaluable to the farming community, but 'our' Multi, the beloved querky do anything, go anywhere shed on wheels was also loved by farmers and families alike. After Fiat kicked it's face in, it never seemed the same - we know it's the same animal, but I couldn't pick one out in a car park full of other similar looking heaps. It's that difference that makes the difference. I could never see me buy a nose job, they're the same but (in my eyes) too much part of the pack. The problem with them being so similar to other cars is - their lack of performance and short comings surface to show that they're not so special after all.
I still think the Ugly Bug is one of the best all round motors on the road and I, like others, have found nothing to adequately replace it.
Wifey said one of the sheds has to go, looks like my life with the C4GP is about to end - I've decided the Bug stays here.
Keep the shiney side up.
Best regards to you and yours
George
