Hi All,

I'm a new member and own a 2013 Ducato 2.3 motorhome which I bought in 2016.

I am seeking advice regarding the maintenance schedule warning light. As the vehicle only does low mileage the services are out of sync with the schedule mileage intervals. The vehicle has had a full service 6 months ago but the mileage is approaching 48000k and a warning message saying the vehicle must be serviced at that mileage. The question is once I go beyond that mileage will the vehicle go into “Limp Home Mode” or can I keep driving ignoring the warning?

Anyone been in that situation?

I used one of these to reset the service interval. On my 2017 2.3 I found that the 'oil service reset' actually reset the service interval.

I reset the mileage to oil service reset counter by following a procedure on you tube. I believe that if you do nothing the service interval will reset itself after 1000km past the due mileage. The oil service is a different matter and involves various levels of restriction i.e limp modes.

You should be servicing on a time basis, e.g. if 2 years has elapsed before reaching service mileage. The service counter should be reset at each service and if covering a low mileage it should never appear on your display as long as you carry out services at the correct time intervals.

'K' is an abbreviation for thousand
so 48000K is 48 million miles
To answer you question, No it will not go into limp mode and you can just ignore the service reminder like I do :)

k means kilometers, not thousands

In my experience, garages can be pretty hit and miss about resetting the service warnings. Sometimes there are more than one to reset, but they only manage to do one of them. Best to take the vehicle back and have a moan, but if its a long round trip then DIY methods are more attractive.

hi all will one of the cheep odb readers clear all the service messages or do you need to speak nice to a garage or M.O.T. / GARAGE , to get them to clear service icons ?

The OP didn't mention Australia or Kilometers, but said mileage five times so I thought he was talking about mileage.
I have often seen k used as an abbreviation for thousand, and km used as an abbreviation for km.
Nevertheless, you could be right and k could have meant km, I don't know.
Not all OBD readers will reset the service message (certainly not the cheap ones like mine) which may be why some garages fail to do it?

It will clear ErrorMessages

But you will want to change things like the OilQuality.. or the DPF system wont be happy

MultiECUScan is very worthwhile if you do your own work.. or have other Italian vehicles :)
