Hi Everyone!

I'm new and I found this forum while typing all sorts of things like "Uno sounds like a beetle in 1st and 2nd gear", "Shuddering at 80km/h" "why is she doing this to me????", "uncontrollable sobbing while holding a match to the fuel tank." into Google looking for a way to explain to mechanics what is wrong with my (seemingly very tired) 1996 Uno Fire.

It's really hard to find a mechanic, much less one that knows anything about cars predating 2000, did all of them move to the coast to fish?
Also, I tend to get scammed on a monthly basis because I know my car is purple and she has 255 000km's on the clock, she takes unleaded fuel and is the reason I have to dye my hair at 31.

Hoping this forum could provide me with some tips and knowledge so I won't have to wrestle with google. :)

Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk..
Tah-tah! :)

Hi Rallycinq, thank you for replying!

And the old lady is still quite pretty for her age - almost no cosmetic damages.

She idles okay, every now and again she'll give a little hiccup or two.
It started right after I put in fuel and asked the attendant to check my oil.
He could not have bumped something out of place, could he?
I pulled out at the garage right after and I could feel something was not right and then I heard the vrrrrrr.... like a Beetle (just not as loud) - just up until about 3rd gear.
When I reach 80km/h I can feel her shuddering almost like she's not getting enough fuel and she struggled up a tiny hill I usually cruise over in 4th.

I had my master cylinder replaced twice this year (a part which I heard should not pack up as quick - see me getting duped here?)
And I replaced the slave just last week and she was fine - until yesterday.

My apologies if I'm explaining this like a total girl - but I'm trying.

Thanks in advance! :)
