Hello, I look forward to participating in the forum, I may be new to the forum but not to spiders.

Background: I have owned a spider since I was 23 back in 1985 starting with a 1971 and ran that car hard for about 5 years, I then picked up a 1976 and kept it until about 1999 and after about 150k sold it to a friend, then my current car which is a 1981 FI spider was bought in 2000 with 9000 miles on the clock, it currently has 55K and 19 years later continues to run very strong.

My car has a lot of the standard mods done to it, I lowered it, got rid of the cromodoros, put 15 inch panasports and rubber on it, deleted the bumpers, and relocated the turn signals into the bumper holes, got rid of the 81 steering wheel and put on an old style wood wheel, and deleted the cat and resonator and run a straight pipe to an ansa twin tip. all common stuff.

Over 19 years, I guess I am on my 3rd canvas top, one repaint, and 300 little things, off the top of my head...

Calipers multiple times
Hi pressure FI lines replace
all brake lines replaces
Starter at least one
Alt at least once
replaced horn
replaced coil a bunch of times
Air flow meter, once (ouch pricey)
a bunch of suspension parts
shift linkage
fuel pump at least once
and 200 other little things

This week the hazard switch keeps popping out and on by itself, so I always have a little something to look at, so that's on the agenda for Saturday, and I wouldn't have it any other way. The car runs on rails and is essentially my daily commuter to work up 95 20 miles each way from May to October.
