Bravo Low oil pressure turn off engine

guys just had a Low oil pressure warning flag up on the dashboard for less than a second in my 2007 1.4 bravo active 16v 90bhp model I don't know th last time the car was serviced as only had the car q few months and has no history however the oil level is between Min and max on the dipstick and the oil is clean it only flashed up when I nearly stalled reversing on to the drive I've read other posts saying they have had this after a stall I turned off and left for 5 minutes and restarted and no message any idea what may have caused this thanks in advance

Hi Andy,

when the engine runs under iddle speed it is possible that oil pump is not able to reach enough pressure. This can happen and it triggers oil "lamp" on dashboard together with that notification.

If you want to be sure, there is not any problem with oil pressure/lubrication, it is possible to unscrew oil cap and check (while the engine is running, better not too hot) what is happening under head cover (I mean there should be oil mist and oil should be flowing around visible head parts - I think that on 1,4 16V is possible to see one of camshaft).

Hi mate thanks for that I will get my mechanic to check it for me didn't get an oil lamp on the dash just the message but I will get it checked I think it needs a good service as sometimes it seems to bog down on pull off but then accelerates as normal but thanks again for your advice
